We are seeking a Project Controls Lead to support a team of project controllers in delivering project control services for Rio Tinto’s closure projects across the Asia Pacific Region (APAC). In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Closure APAC team, including the Global Project Services Manager, Principal and Senior Advisors. You will also work with APAC General Managers and the Rio Tinto Closure Finance Business Partner on reporting for APAC spending and progress. Your role will involve overseeing the workload, scope, and performance of the APAC project controllers and schedulers. You will coordinate with General Managers, District Managers, Asset Managers, Study Leads, and Contractors to track cost and schedule regional performance. Additionally, you will be involved in stakeholder and project meetings, and reviews, and lead internal project controls meetings as needed. Reporting to the Global Project Services Manager for Closure and working in a collaborative community, you will be: Managing the regional implementation of the global project services mission, vision, and goals. Managing APAC Project Controller’s and Scheduler’s workload, scope of work, deliverables, and performance. Managing stakeholder engagement with APAC project leadership and leadership of supporting functions. Managing SAP project creation, SAP budget uploads, and WBS structure. Managing the alignment of the regional Project Controls Team, and supporting vendors, to the tools, processes and procedures used by the Global Project Services Team. Coordinating with Global Document Control Lead regarding document control project setup, vendor access, and project tracking. As directed by the Project Services Manager, support with or manage the following: Global process improvements and implementation Recruitment of new project controllers and schedulers Lead regional trainings and presentations What You’ll Bring Commitment to the safety of yourself and your team A bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, accounting or a related field is desirable. Five or more years of experience in project controls Experience with managing project control deliverables for a portfolio of projects Robust understanding of project management and controls concepts Knowledge or experience in scheduling and progress management Experience with earned value management, forecasting and accruals Management experience and ability to work independently as a self-starter Excellent communication and collaboration skills to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders Applied knowledge in change management Proficient in SAP, Excel and Power BIWhat We Offer Be recognised for your contribution, your thinking and your hard work, and go home knowing you’ve helped the world progress.
