Australian Irrigation Investments (aii) is the privately owned parent company for a series of entities in the Australian pumping & irrigation industry. Over the past 7 years, aii has demonstrated significant successful growth on the east coast of Australia via acquisition. The portfolio now includes Re Aqua and Cobrum Pumping & Irrigation, with two further significant acquisitions imminent (due to close October 2024 & Q1 2025). This growth trajectory necessitates the creation of this new senior leadership role, reporting directly to the MD. With a strong future pipeline of planned investments, aii is a nimble, agile and values-driven enterprise. The GM Operations will join the team concurrently with 2 other key appointments – GM Finance and GM People & Culture (P&C). Excitingly, this will afford the new GM cohort the opportunity to participate in strategic planning days with the Owners in order to set the desired strategy, governance, leadership charter, mission, vision and culture for aii moving forward. The General Manager Operations will possess the strategic vision to partner with the other business leaders in order to drive the company into its next era of transformation, including: Embedding a clear operating strategy and model that optimises shareholder value. Enabling and delivering the pinnacle in maintenance, servicing, and project delivery. Ensuring uniformity and operational excellence across aii’s portfolio. Driving rigorous operational frameworks, and fostering a high level of operational discipline. Effectively managing supplier relationships that achieve win-win outcomes. Identifying, monitoring, measuring and targeting areas for operational improvement. Maintaining positive relationships with existing as well as new customers. Reinforcing a culture of continuous improvement to enhance reliability, consistency and efficiency of operations. This newly created opportunity will appeal to suitably senior operational leaders with: Experience empowering a geographically dispersed team to leverage capability uplift. A hands-on leadership style who will help teams work through raising the bar on operational discipline. Exposure serving as a strategic advisor on operational matters to an MD and Board. A role model mindset who establishes a culture of safe work practices and ensures accountability. The ability to develop and implement best practice operational policies, plans and procedures. Relevant formal tertiary qualifications. Project management rigour. Initiative, proactivity and exceptional interpersonal communication skills. The closing date is Sunday 13 October 2024.
