An excellent opportunity now exists for an experienced Accountant to join our team. Reporting to the Management Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for supporting and administering the provision of operational Accounting and other Financial Services to the business units of RAC and in doing so contribute to the operational performance of the Group.
We are offering a 1-year term contract, primarily operating from the West Perth office with additional location in Joondalup, as well as the opportunity to work from home.
What will you be doing?
- Leading and preparing activities related to the annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Partnering with business stakeholders to ensure financial information meets requirements, emerging trends are identified, including the analysis of financial result drivers.
- Fostering and thriving in an environment of continuous improvement, working with team members to improve insights and ways of working.
- Delivering ad hoc projects and responsibilities as assigned by Managers and other senior stakeholders.
- Completing assigned month-end/year-end accounting processes for Shared Services and Group accounting transactions/journals for RAC Business Divisions.
- Involvement in internal/external audits and ensuring allocated audit tasks meet requirements.
- Involvement in Tax-related matters of BAS, FBT, and ITR, liaising directly with the Group Tax Team.
- Preparation of assigned balance sheet reconciliations as per agreed timelines, including correct recognition and treatment of assets and liabilities.
- Participating in and providing support where necessary on projects and initiatives as required to increase efficiencies across Shared Services.
- Providing support to the team as required during busy times or unforeseen circumstances, including providing BAU backfill to team members while projects and initiatives are in progress.
- Performing other duties as required by the Management Accounting Manager to ensure that the Financial Services team meets its objectives.
- Improving processes within the scope of responsibility.
- Maintaining documentation of own relevant financial processes and procedures.
- Offering the opportunity to learn and assist across different business units in the Group.
What are we looking for in you?
- Experience in an accounting role in a large organisation or division.
- Tertiary Qualifications in Commerce/Business majoring in accounting.
- Professionally qualified as a CA or CPA or similar.
- Management and Financial Accounting experience.
- Key requirement: An understanding of a large ERP system (Oracle, SAP) and key modules being Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, i Expenses, and Fixed Assets.
- Strong reconciliation skills.
- Advanced Excel skills (exposure to Power Query would be an advantage).
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to analyse and interpret financial data and information.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Engaging in effective teamwork.
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment.
- Developing and maintaining professional relationships with stakeholders and external groups.
