The Opportunity Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will be leading a dedicated and hardworking team of finance professionals, all focused on supporting council to deliver a vision for a vibrant and sustainable Orange region. Functionally you will be responsible for planning, implementing and managing all financial activities of Council. This includes the evaluation of financial performance to improve financial and business processes and deliver cost efficiency and outstanding customer experience to the Executive Leadership Team and Council. Additionally, you will be responsible for the implementation of all finance functions in Council’s Integrated Planning and Reporting (IP&R) documents (Community Strategic Plan, Long Term Financial Plan (LTFP), Workforce Plan, Assets Management Plans, Delivery/Operational Plan) and other strategic documents. As an experienced finance professional and leader of people, you will have a history of delivering sound financial organisational capability, building cultures that you and the organisation are proud of and being firmly focused on outcomes. As would be expected of such a role, well developed communication skills are essential as is the ability to develop effective partnerships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholder groups. You will also be passionate and committed to delivering quality outcomes for the community of Orange. To be successful, you will also possess relevant degree or tertiary qualifications in accounting and eligible for or have membership to a recognised professional accounting body. Previous Local Government experience is highly desirable.
