This position supports services within the Eastern Suburbs Mental Health Service after hours, leading operational management and providing professional guidance and clinical expertise across the ESMHS. It ensures efficient patient flow and access, and manages incidences on-site. As a senior nursing role, it collaborates with the senior leadership team at ESMHS.
Responsibilities include:
Effective leadership and management of inpatient services
Guiding delivery of patient care through partnerships with teams, services, and organizations
Supporting the Eastern Suburbs Mental Health Executive, Nursing Unit Managers, and Patient Flow Coordinator in daily operations
Involvement in strategic planning, project development, and practice standards improvement
Participating in rostered Executive On Call duties for after-hours and weekends

Selection Criteria
Tertiary qualifications in Nursing and current registration as a Registered Nurse
Extensive post-registration experience in mental health nursing, management, and acute mental health care
Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability in clinical service planning, change management, and financial management
Knowledge of Work Health and Safety, risk, and safety management in mental health
Commitment to consumer and carer participation
Knowledge of Performance Management and Industrial Relations
Computer literacy and a current NSW unrestricted driver’s license
