Contract Duration: 5 Months
Hourly Rate: $75 + super
Location: CBD + WFH
Key Accountabilities- Prepare financial statements, reports and accounting workpapers to inform NSW Treasury and other stakeholders on the organisational financial position, in accordance with established deadlines.
- Prepare pre-payment and accrual journals and other end of month activities to enable informed financial decision making and budget forecasting.
- Implement and undertake accounting functions and projects as required, including asset management, cash management, systems development and process improvement to support organisational requirements.
- Proactively identify and resolve financial risks including transactional, reporting and account reconciliation issues, and develop mitigation strategies to ensure the Department's audit and compliance requirements are met.
- Work closely with the Department's financial services providers to ensure that the processing of financial transactions is accurate and timely under the terms of service level agreement.
- Partner with key stakeholders by providing general financial advice on policy and procedures to ensure legislative requirements are met.
- Experience in accounting and related software systems (SAP, Oracle or similar).
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and eligibility for membership to a professional accounting body.
- Experience with tax and foreign exchange exposure.
