The Opportunity and about the role: Reporting to the National Vocational Training Manager with a matrix reporting structure, this role involves working closely with the Head of Education, Quality and Compliance Manager and other staff members in the program's strategy and operations areas. The position requires extensive professional knowledge and experience in teaching and learning in the Vocational Education and Training context. The Head of Discipline/Nursing will contribute to the development of Employ Ease educational learning and teaching policies and procedures and provide advice and assistance to teaching staff, industry and community clients. Responsibilities include: Plan and coordinate the development and delivery of HLT54121 Diploma of Nursing program. Coordinate the development, review, refinement, and enhancement of teaching and assessment protocols and procedures integral to the Nursing program's efficacy and relevance. Ensure rigorous adherence to the standards stipulated by the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC), Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA), and the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) in fostering compliance within the enrolled nurse practice domain. This includes regular program monitoring reports to ANMAC as well as adhering to and upholding the accreditation standards. Provide effective leadership and supervision to all teaching staff, encompassing the recruitment, onboarding, and performance management of casual/sessional personnel, while adeptly negotiating and allocating work assignments. Adhere to legislative and regulatory mandates, including those outlined in Equal Opportunity and anti-discrimination legislation, disability inclusion requirements, Occupational Health and Safety (Act OH&S) protocols, and Privacy provisions. Familiarize oneself with and operate in accordance with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) and Quality Management Systems (QMS) frameworks, policies, and procedures to promote a safe and compliant work environment. Other duties and projects as directed. What you will bring to the role: Resource Management Proficiency: Exhibited ability to efficiently manage resources within budgetary constraints, aligning with business objectives and contractual obligations to facilitate the optimal delivery of VET programs to students and industry stakeholders. Contemporary Nursing Acumen: Demonstrated comprehension of the current nursing landscape and prevailing clinical practices pertinent to Enrolled Nurses, showcasing a nuanced understanding of evolving trends and advancements within the field. Team Leadership and Development: Proven capability to lead, mentor, and cultivate a cohesive team of teaching staff, effectively steering them towards the attainment of learning and teaching objectives within a dynamic educational environment. Strategic Planning and Coordination: Demonstrated aptitude in strategic planning, coordination, and resource management, coupled with the ability to adeptly analyze complex situations and implement pragmatic solutions to address organizational challenges. Effective Communication and Relationship Building: Displayed proficiency in communication and interpersonal skills. ICT Integration in Education: Proficient application of information and communication technologies (ICT) in the educational sphere to facilitate an inclusive learning environment catering to the diverse needs of students, including those with disabilities. VET Compliance Knowledge: Possession of a comprehensive understanding of the Vocational Education and Training (VET) environment, coupled with adeptness in navigating regulatory compliance standards and protocols inherent to the sector. NMBA Standards Adherence: Sound familiarity with the standards and accreditation practices mandated by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) concerning the delivery of the Diploma of Nursing, ensuring adherence to requisite benchmarks for program excellence and regulatory compliance. Mandatory Qualifications and Professional Experience: A minimum of Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent. A relevant postgraduate qualification in nursing or a related field, such as a Master of Nursing or Master of Health Administration. Must have current Certificate IV training and assessment. Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) without any conditions that would prohibit the individual from practicing as a nurse. Possession of a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) and an up-to-date national police check are mandatory prerequisites. Extensive professional experience in the field of nursing, preferably at a senior level, with a minimum of five to ten years of experience. A strong background in education and training, including experience in curriculum development, program management, and staff supervision. Demonstrated leadership and management skills, with the ability to effectively lead a team of teaching staff, manage resources, and implement strategic initiatives.
