General Manager People & Culture Location: Footscray, Victoria State Trustees, a State Government owned company, administers $2.9bn in funds, generates an income of $84.6 million and employs almost 600 people, working in three Victorian centres; Melbourne (Footscray; head office), Bendigo and Dandenong. They support Victorians from all walks of life to manage their financial and legal affairs when they need assistance, or after they pass away. They give clients complete confidence their affairs are in good order through the essential services and expert support they provide, as well as the community education and advocacy that is performed to improve peoples’ circumstances. State Trustees’ overarching purpose is informed by its Constitution, which states that it is to perform functions for the public benefit by: Operating its business and pursuing its undertakings as efficiently as possible, consistent with prudent commercial practice; Maximising its contribution to the economy and wellbeing of the State of Victoria; Contributing to the State Government’s support for vulnerable Victorians. Currently State Trustees offering includes the following core services: Executor Services – Estate Administration and Executor Assist; Personal Financial Administration; Trust Administration Inc. State Trustees Australia Foundation – Charitable Trust; Financial Power of Attorney Administration; Will and Powers of Attorney (Po A) Preparation – Will, Po A and Statutory Declaration kits; Victorian Will and Powers of Attorney Registry; Administration of the Victorian Will Bank. Following the appointment of a new CEO and aligning with a new corporate strategy, State Trustees is looking for an outstanding individual to be appointed to the newly created position of General Manager People & Culture (“GMP&C”). The GMP&C will report directly to the CEO and oversee approximately 12 staff through a team of 4 direct reports comprising: Manager, Organisational Development, Diversity and Learning; Manager, People, Performance & Careers; Payroll and Accounting Officer; Senior Employment Relations Business Partner. The GMP&C will play a critical role in providing executive leadership for the organisation’s people and culture strategies. This leadership position is accountable for identifying, designing and implementing initiatives which positions State Trustees as a public-sector employer of choice and enables the delivery of State Trustees Strategy through its people.
