A little bit about us The Finance and Information Technology Division is part of the Chief Operating Officer group and provides high quality and contemporary financial, legal and information technology services, systems and support to all divisions in the Department to enable them to achieve their strategic priorities. The Information Services Branch (ISB) delivers trusted technology and services to the Department and portfolio agencies to support to the department's strategic activities at all levels internally, externally and internationally. The End User Support section manages the IT Change Management for the Department. Through quality assurance and standardised processes, we minimise risk to the Departments ICT Applications and services by applying sound governance. We work with internal and external stakeholders to manage all aspects of operational ICT Change Management. The opportunity we have available We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced person to fill the role of IT Change Manager. The role requires an enthusiastic person with a willingness to engage, communicate and collaborate with others. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated capability to undertake IT governance, planning and reporting activities. The successful candidate will play a key role in the maintenance and improvement of IT systems, as well as the delivery of new systems and services within the department. This selection process may be used to fill upcoming vacancies within the department for a eighteen-month period, both ongoing and non-ongoing. What will you do? As the IT Change Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in delivery and governance of Changes within the Department’s IT environments. In this role you will be required to perform duties in accordance with the APS Values and Code of Conduct. Position specific duties include: Facilitate the day to day functions of the IT Change Advisory Board (CAB) and oversee the IT Change Management policies and processes to ensure strict compliance by individual change participants Carry out secretariat functions for the CAB, recording and distribution of decisions, managing action registers, and ensuring the outcomes are discoverable Champion the change management policy and process within the department; engagement and collaboration with key stakeholders across business units and projects to ensure a considered and successful approach to organisational IT Change activities Maintain the departments change documentation, including the change management policy and procedure(s) Maintain the record of changes, for auditing purposes Maintain the change calendar Identify, report and manage risks related to changes or schedule Complete statistical reporting related to change activities Apply ITIL change management principles. The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience: Demonstrated experience with working in operational IT Change Management roles within a government department Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with diverse areas and teams, managing positive relationships with key stakeholders to achieve goals and implement change Demonstrated ability to undertake governance, planning and reporting activities Demonstrate an understanding and experience of ITIL Demonstrated ability to use analytical techniques to identify business improvement opportunity's and support business process change within the organisation Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate digital documents using a records management system An ITIL foundation or similar certification / experience Experience in an IT Governance. Experience working in the IT industry Tertiary or vocational qualification in an IT discipline or related field. Eligibility requirements Employment with the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts is subject to conditions prescribed within the Public Service Act 1999 including: Citizenship: Candidates must be an Australian citizen to be eligible for employment with the department.
