The Role Busselton Senior High School is seeking a dedicated and innovative Head of Learning Area (HOLA) – Science to join our leadership team. The successful applicant will be innovative, future-focused, and committed to making a difference in the lives of young people. As a HOLA, you will have strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively with staff, students, parents/carers, and the wider community. You will be the leader of Science and a strategic leader within the whole school, capable of working collaboratively in teams at different levels. You will build positive working relationships with staff, students, and parents to enable all students to grow and develop. As a leader, you will facilitate the growth of staff, ensure compliance, and possess excellent curriculum knowledge and skills. As a key member of the school’s leadership team, you will require a high level of understanding of the Australian Professional Teacher and Leadership Standards, the Western Australian curriculum, and innovative practices in the teaching of Science. You will take on significant levels of accountability through the monitoring and tracking of student progress, reflect and assess the effectiveness of teaching practices, and engage staff to review and reflect on curriculum to ensure that teaching and learning programs are responsive to the needs of the 21st century learner.
