As Senior Global Business Partner, you will: 

• Lead a regional sales and business development team to achieve identified revenue goals and objectives in relation to increasing the volume, diversity and quality of the TAFE Queensland International Education student cohort.

• Work with management to develop and implement sales, business development, recruitment and promotional plans that are tailored to the designated market and consistent with TAFE Queensland strategy and standards.

This position reports to the Manager, Partnership Development and Engagement. 

There are two Temporary Full-Time opportunities available until 10 March 2023 and 30 June 2023 respectively, both with the possibility of extension. 

The position will be based primarily at Southbank however you may be required to perform work at other TAFE Queensland campuses.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the success of transformation and cultural change through promoting and modelling the established values of Safety First, Working Together, Focussing on our Customer, Taking Responsibility and Showing Initiative.

• Live a safety culture, lead by example and support the Health Safety and Environment Management System to create a TAFE Queensland wide safety culture. 

• Achieve identified revenue projections from international students, international business and study tours and increase market awareness of the TAFE Queensland brand within designated market.

• Provide leadership and management to a multi skilled team both on and offshore. This includes coaching and mentoring where required, as well as identifying and delegating activities and priorities and setting team targets and performance measures. 

• Leverage an in depth knowledge of the designated target market to work with management to develop, implement and report on business development, sales and promotional plans for designated target market that are customised to the target market and well aligned with TAFE Queensland strategic and operational plans.

• Identify and drive business opportunities with business partners, multinational organisations and educational institutions in designated market that will lead to revenue generation.

• Manage the development of quotations, costings, study tour proposals and contracts written for clients within target market, ensuring they are compliant with domestic and host country legislation and requirements.

• Represent TAFE Queensland at relevant international groups and events and expos to cultivate key relationships and remain at the forefront of industry trends and developments.

• Maintain currency of knowledge on domestic and target market legislation, government and regulatory requirements and provide reliable, professional advice to team members

• Lead the management of the international tender document and study tour proposal process. 

• Maintain an understanding of the commercial aspects of TAFE including financial and business performance and any impact from external factors.

• Actively engage with industry, business and the community.

How you will be assessed

The ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities:

1. Proven track record of success in leading marketing and sales teams in the international arena to achieve identified revenue targets and positive team dynamics.

2. Proven experience in identifying, building and sustaining relationships at all levels and across cultures, working collaboratively to achieve outcomes.

3. Sophisticated knowledge of the vocational education and training (VET) and English language markets, including a working understanding of relevant external legislation including CRICOS and the ESOS Act.

4. High level understanding of the designated market area, including culture and cultural protocols, relevant legislation, standards, regulations and guidelines and the ability to interpret these concepts for application in the context of the role.

5. Displays flexibility and responsiveness and has the initiative, attitude and ability to thrive within a dynamic, challenging and changing environment.

Highly Desirable Requirements

• Applicants should possess the attributes necessary to obtain visa clearance to travel throughout the Asian region on an ad hoc basis.
