The Corporate Counsel - Leasing, Recoveries and Dispute Resolutions will be a cross-functional lawyer tasked with overseeing commercial lease, recoveries and dispute resolution matters including evictions and other related issues. Must utilize a hands-on and versatile approach while ensuring quality, timeliness and best possible outcomes. Candidate should provide practical advice and proactive legal solutions for the business.Position responsibilities include but are not limited to:Manage commercial leasing resolution matters related to landlord tenant issues including preparation of negotiated lease settlement terms.Actively manage ANZ based lease litigation/disputes, monetary compliance recovery and eviction matters. Keeping all precedents up to date, assisting with managing rent and other monies defaults (including bankruptcies and liquidations).Responsible for drafting various settlement agreements other than lease resolution legal documents.Actively communicate with Business Developers and their staff, updating matter status, tracking matter budgets and strategizing on best course of resolution including liaison with external counsel.The successful candidate will have:Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills are mandatory.Admission to practise as a Queensland or other State Legal Practitioner is mandatory.Experience with commercial real estate and leases.Knowledge of franchising a plus.Experience with case tracking software ushc as legal tracker, Thomson Reuters, Westlaw preferred but not essential.Flexibility and the ability to work through multi-party disputes required.
