We are currently seeking an Operations Manager with a focus in the areas of Infrastructure, Power, Renewables, Mining and Oil n' Gas utilizing your freight forwarding skills to join our team in Brisbane. Reporting to our Regional East Coast Manager, your duties and responsibilities will require you to:
Your tasks and responsibilities:
- Manage and execute the daily operations of General Cargo Freight/Projects
- Lead, direct and support the operations team in daily operations as well as spearheading the development and rollout of continuous improvement initiatives
- Work with the Business Development Team to manage and develop sales leads
- Lead communication with clients and suppliers
- Contract review and management, controlling of project financials, operations management, reporting results, and KPIs
- Create high quality technical and commercial proposals in response to budget requests, tenders, RFI and RFQ / RFP
- Employ company tools such as Cargowise, CRM and Smartsheet to gain maximum advantage
What you can contribute:
- Experience in Cargowise is essential
- Qualifications in Logistics and/or Project Management is desirable
- Experience leading/managing high quality teams in the freight/logistics industry
- At least five years experience in international freight forwarding, with knowledge of international logistics processes
- Logistics Experience in Oil n Gas, Mining, Capital Construction, Power, and Renewables is essential
- A team player attitude with a distinctive hands-on mentality and enjoys working in a dynamic environment
- Only Australian citizen or permanent resident of Australia will be considered for this role.
