Your new opportunity
As a Senior Treasury Analyst, you will make a significant contribution to the Budget Strategy and Financial Reporting (BSFR) division's projects and policy analyses.

You will provide accurate, concise advice on a range of fiscal and financial issues to both internal and external stakeholders, often within tight timeframes. This role offers the opportunity to work across disciplines within a diverse specialist area.

In this role, you will:

  • Liaise directly with key internal and external stakeholders in undertaking analysis and preparing advice to inform the legislation and governance work programs.
  • Assist with preparing reports, submissions, briefing notes, commentary, policy, presentations, documents, publications and correspondence related to financial accountability, budget and fiscal-related matters.
  • Assist with the analysis of policy options for financial accountability and fiscal and budget management.
  • Assist internal and external stakeholders to interpret and apply Government financial management policies and guidance documents.
  • Interpret and apply legislation to various situations.
  • Update policies and legislative instruments.
  • Contribute to the development of whole-of-Government policy and guidance material.
  • Analyse and provide advice on a broad range of financial accountability and financial management issues.
  • Manage and maintain positive working relationships and partnerships with stakeholders both internal and external to BSFR.

What experience you will bring:

  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong research, analytic and problem-solving skills in relation to legislation and governance issues, including preparation and analysis of strategic policy advice.
  • Efficient organisational skills with ability to work independently on complex, time sensitive tasks in fast-paced policy environments.
  • Effective judgement, communication and understanding of perspectives in developing solutions and working with others.

Whilst there are no mandatory qualifications needed for this role, relevant qualifications are highly regarded.

This role requires a sound knowledge of Financial Accountability Act 2009 and Statutory Bodies Financial Arrangements Act 1982 or the ability to quickly acquire.
