It’s a pretty cool industry and we are at the heart of it.Equatorial Launch Australia’s (ELA) mission is and aspires to be the pre-eminent multi-user commercial Space Launch company, providing world-class Launch services supporting testing, launch and recovery of space vehicles and payloads flown to and from all space orbits.The Executive Chairman and Group CEO leads a seriously professional and highly qualified leadership team who are trusted leaders in the development of the space industry in Australia and globally. Our team’s experience and capability spans across aerospace, commercial enterprise, regulation, asset development, and complex project management along with space strategy and systems engineering.ELA owns and operates the Arnhem Space Centre (ASC), a multi-user commercial spaceport in East Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory, Australia at 12° S. ELA were contracted by NASA to launch Australia’s first commercial rockets to space from our site in June and July 2022. We value teamwork, respect and a ‘can do’ attitude couple with a desire for excellence.The New Role: (Based in Adelaide with travel to NT as required). Working directly with the CEO, ELA’s General Manager of the ASC (GM-Site and Engineering) is responsible for managing all activities carried out at the ASC. The GM ASC works closely with the GM Operations and Launch to ensure every aspect of launch and facilities are managed in an efficient and safe manner. Key Accountabilities: Ensure that all activities carried out at the ASC conform to the Site Development Plan and the Facilities Management Plan;Maintain overall site, and ground safety and personnel welfare having authority or oversight in relation to operating or maintaining the ground systems of the launch facility;Ensure all necessary resources required to manage the ASC facility;Oversee ELA launch programs from a facility and site-specific perspective.Collaborate with ELA project managers;Provide overall management and control of site access and security, including acting as the Chief Security Information Officer role required for cyber security;Manage all logistics related to the site and launches, transport, ground and sea vehicles and site development and preparation for launch activities; KPI’s and risk mitigation strategiesWhat we are looking for: Experience as a hands-on foreman from a trade background or similar with sufficient industry experienceExtensive site management or supervision experience on fit out, refurbishment and construction programsPrevious experience in commercial refurbishment/fit out - highly desirable not essentialFinancial understanding of projectsExperience in engaging sub-contractors and community groupsGood management skills with the ability to motivate and drivePossess high level verbal & written communication skillsYou don’t know the phrase “that’s not my job” and are a real “can do“ person.
