Head of Student Performance and Wellbeing SEDA College SA is an independent, co-educational senior secondary college (Year 11 and Year 12) designed to engage, educate and empower young people through the power of sport, as they transition from school to employment and/or further education. SEDA College SA delivers an innovative education program, which achieves quality learning outcomes by integrating students’ interests and personalised curriculum with hands-on learning that is embedded in the sport industry, alongside peak sporting partners. This nurtures work-ready, mature, resilient and capable young people who, on completing their SACE and VET, are empowered through a range of pathway choices in further education and/or employment. Delivering a unique senior secondary program, the College works directly with a range of high-quality sporting partners, including: SACA Cricket Program (Edwardstown)Netball SA/Adelaide Thunderbirds Netball Program (Glandore)POSITION OVERVIEWTo lead the implementation of the wellbeing framework by the Student Performance & Wellbeing Team, ensuring comprehensive support and guidance for young people to flourish. This role does not include an allocated teaching load but will involve working in classrooms and managing a counselling caseload at various learning environments across the metropolitan area. The start date will be January 2025. KEY RESPONSIBILITIESOperational Leadership: Framework Implementation: Lead the successful implementation of the wellbeing framework, ensuring its effective integration into the school's culture and practices. Team Leadership: Provide motivational leadership to the Performance and Wellbeing Team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture. Wellbeing Culture: Cultivate a supportive and inclusive environment where student wellbeing is prioritised, empowering students to feel safe, connected, develop a sense of belonging, and achieve personal success. Program Implementation & Support: Empowerment & Education: Equip students, teachers, and parents with knowledge and strategies to enhance student performance and wellbeing. Professional Development: Design and deliver impactful workshops and professional development programs related to wellbeing. Capacity Building: Support teachers, mentors, and other staff in providing holistic student support aligned with the wellbeing framework. Inclusion & Advocacy: Inclusive Practices: Champion inclusive and holistic wellbeing practices that enhance the diverse student experiences at SCSA. Wellbeing Advocacy: Promote wellbeing, personal development, and leadership, fostering strong relationships and demonstrating behaviours that align with SCSA's core values. Supervision (Desirable): Provide qualified supervision to counselling and psychology staff and placements. KEY RELATIONSHIPSSupported by: Deputy Principal & Director of Development Provides support to: Performance and Wellbeing Team (including counsellors, performance psychologists, and placement students) Collaborates with: Teachers, mentors, and other staff members where required Note: The role description may be subject to further negotiation. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, CERTIFICATES & CLEARANCESCurrent Teacher Registration Board (TRB SA) registration (or ability to gain it) and/or Relevant post-graduate qualifications in psychology/counselling/social work Current Driver’s Licence Current First Aid qualification (including CPR and Anaphylaxis Training) (required or willing to obtain)Working with Children Check (WWCC)Current RRHAN-EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect)Applications must include a CV and a two-minute video recording, showcasing your personality, skills, and genuine interest in the role.
