What you’ll do: The Corporate Development team at carsales is a global, fast-paced, high-performing team responsible for sourcing, evaluating, negotiating and executing strategic transactions. Our contribution helps to accelerate carsales’ strategic objectives and support carsales’ continued growth. We lead all aspects of identifying, evaluating, and executing transactions that have a significant impact on the overall direction of the company. This is your opportunity to deliver and grow carsales’ portfolio of M&A and early stage investments and be a big part of something big. Reporting to the EGM – Corporate Development, you will be assisting the Corporate Development team to deliver value-enhancing M&A, early stage investments, and other strategically relevant transactions across the globe. Working either independently, or in cross-functional projects, or transaction teams, you will build collaborative relationships with relevant stakeholders, manage internal teams and external advisors, and prepare high-impact and insightful materials to assist with decision making. Develop and maintain financial models, analysis and presentations, as well as track prospective M&A opportunities. Assisting to identify, research and recommend industries, companies and technologies for carsales to evaluate from an M&A or investment perspective and analyze the company’s objectives and identify, recommend and pursue technologies that can accelerate those goals. Coordinating due diligence processes across the carsales group of global businesses and across teams, including finance, tax, legal, people and culture, engineering, product, design, and data. Support cross-functional capital markets and financing efforts and contribute to group wide strategic planning processes. What are we looking for? Demonstrated inclusive and interpersonal attributes that connect you to our behaviours (we change the game, we own it, we step in, we are curious, we don’t take ourselves too seriously). Proficient in financial modeling, valuation, and broad quantitative analysis with a familiarity of basic accounting principles. Strong strategic, analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to work effectively with cross-functional senior executives and their teams in a fast paced environment to deliver outcomes. A demonstrated track record of being a self-starter, able to adapt quickly and have a solution-oriented approach to new challenges. Have a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and demonstrated experience from top tier investment banking, corporate development, private equity, venture capital, management consulting or otherwise.
