Description

Clemenger Group is looking for a Finance Director to join our Melbourne team based in the CBD.

As the Finance Director of Clemenger Group operating companies, your role will encompass:

  1. Enhancing the decision making ability of the Company's Exec Management team through the provision of timely, actionable and insightful reporting and analysis.
  2. Expertly managing the day-to-day running of the Finance Department.
  3. Working with the CFO to support the transformation of the business and to improve efficiency and job design for finance team members.

You will need excellent financial reporting skills as well as excellent communication skills to flourish in a fast-moving working environment.

You will also need to develop an in-depth knowledge of the financial arrangements for clients and the associated financial needs and develop timely accurate financial reports and information for the CFO.

Responsibilities:

Management Reporting

  1. Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and provide actionable recommendations to improve profitability and efficiency.
  2. Produce monthly reports with variance analysis for client billings and revenue.
  3. Generate financial forecasts and models to assess future financial outcomes and support resource allocation decisions.
  4. Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  5. Prepare ad hoc financial analysis.

Client Remuneration and Profitability

  1. Work with CFO on client remuneration models and client contract reviews.
  2. Understand client remuneration models and forecasts by working closely with client service leads.
  3. Provide client retainer fee reconciliations and profitability reporting.
  4. Monitor unreleased estimates and WIP balances to ensure revenue is captured and prevent write-offs.
  5. Oversee the time-sheeting process to ensure accuracy, timeliness and utility of data.

Working Capital

  1. Monitor and manage the working capital position of the business (credit term adherence, debtor collection, WIP management).
  2. Management of the Treasury function via the holding company.
  3. Provide payment approvals.
  4. Review journals, chart of accounts and mapping to Hyperion Financial Reporting system to ensure reporting is consistent with local IFRS and US GAAP reporting requirements.
  5. Review General Ledger accounts (Balance Sheet Recs).

Audit & Taxation

  1. Preparation of audit & tax schedules for year-end reporting cycle.
  2. Prepare/Review the Business Activity Statement.
  3. Ensure robust internal controls are in operation to meet Sarbanes Oxley testing requirements.
  4. Act as primary liaison for requests from KPMG & client independent auditors.

Team Leadership and Development:

  1. Manage and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering a high-performance culture and promoting continuous learning and development.
  2. Provide guidance and support to team members on complex financial matters and facilitate cross-functional collaboration.

Other

  1. Provide support and prepare ad hoc reporting and analysis for CFO.
