Badminton WA is the recognised State Sporting Organisation responsible for the governance, promotion and development of badminton in Western Australia. Working with clubs, volunteers, government partners and Badminton Australia, the organisation delivers participation programs, tournaments and athlete development pathways across the state.
Badminton WA is seeking an experienced and capable Executive Officer (EO) to lead the operational delivery of the Association and implement the strategic direction set by the Board of Management.

About the Role
The Executive Officer is the senior operational leader of Badminton WA and is responsible for overseeing the organisation’s day-to-day operations, financial management, governance compliance and program delivery.
Working closely with the Board of Management (through the President), the EO plays a key role in implementing the strategic plan, supporting sustainable organisational growth and strengthening relationships across the badminton community.
This position requires a balance of strategic thinking, operational leadership and stakeholder engagement within a small and collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Governance
Implement the Badminton WA Strategic Plan and annual operational plans
Provide advice and operational insight to the Board of Management
Ensure organisational compliance with governance and legislative requirements
Support Board meetings, AGM processes and organisational reporting
Develop and manage the Association’s annual budget
Provide regular financial reporting to the Board
Identify and secure grant funding, sponsorship and partnership opportunities
Manage grant acquittals and compliance reporting
Operational Leadership
Oversee delivery of participation programs, tournaments and development initiatives
Ensure effective systems, processes and event delivery frameworks are in place
Manage key operational relationships including venues, suppliers and contractors
Lead and support staff, volunteers and program coordinators
Foster a positive and collaborative organisational culture
Coordinate staff performance reviews and workload planning
Growth & Community Engagement
Strengthen relationships with affiliated clubs and stakeholders
Support membership growth and participation initiatives
Maintain effective communication with Badminton Australia, government partners and sponsors

About You
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
Experience in sport administration, community organisations or similar sectors
Strong organisational and financial management capability
Experience working with boards or governance committees
Ability to manage multiple operational priorities and projects
Excellent communication and stakeholder relationship skills
A collaborative leadership style suited to working with volunteers and community stakeholders
Experience within sporting organisations or the not-for-profit sector will be highly regarded.
Full-time position
Two year fixed-term contract with ongoing employment to be offered at successful completion of the contract.
Salary package to be negotiated, based on experience
