Specific information regarding the role We are seeking a dynamic leader to fulfil this newly created role as Head of Individual Differences. The successful applicant will commence in January 2024. The Head of Individual Differences will oversee the provision of a quality education for all students with identified needs across the College. They will be responsible for the oversight of processes and practices that will maximise individual student progress. Selection of Candidates Minimum Qualifications Applicants must: Be registered as a teacher with VIT (which can only be gained with appropriate teaching qualifications). Hold current first aid qualifications (including anaphylaxis management) or possess the ability to gain such qualifications. Be eligible to work in Australia. Desirable (but not essential) Qualification Master of Special or Gifted Education (or equivalent). Selection criteria Applicants should provide evidence of their experience/capacity regarding their: Passion for working with young people; to develop their learning skills and social confidence and be willing to work as part of a positive and supportive team to achieve the College’s aims and goals. Experience and subject matter expertise in supporting the education of students with diverse learning needs and profiles. Care for the holistic development of each student, and the capacity to recognise and adapt to the individual needs of students. Ability to support the planning, delivery and assessment of individualised programs. High level communication and interpersonal skills shown when relating to students, families and colleagues.
