The opportunity
We have an opportunity for a Director, Climate & Nature to join our highly-regarded Sustainability team. Reporting to the General Manager of Sustainability, this role is critical in adding to our sustainability leadership in preparedness for climate change and the preservation of biodiversity. Joining this team, you will have the chance to make a meaningful difference to Mirvac leaders, colleagues, industry, and other partners.
Your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Overseeing Mirvac’s market leading decarbonization target to be net positive in scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions by 2030
- Technical subject matter expertise and leadership on climate change and nature
- Crafting and driving strategy, bringing together our established positions on circularity, water, emissions, and biodiversity
- Ensuring preparedness for climate change in governance, systems, performance, and products
- Technical content creation and verification for disclosure requirements
- Representation through industry associations and policy influencers, including coordination of positions and responses on industry-based advocacy
- Driving strong engagement with the Mirvac leadership and other key stakeholders
Your point of difference
You will be professionally qualified with significant experience in a relevant sector, ideally including experience with an ASX-listed company. You will demonstrate technical expertise in climate change, nature, and ESG disclosures and have strong programme, project, and priority management skills.
You will have strong stakeholder engagement skills as a coalition builder, particularly with internal engagement to listen and deliver on needs in a way that is valued by the receiver.
