Echelon Claims Services, a division of Echelon Australia Pty Ltd, offers a premier claims management service, specializing in insurance operations and self-insurance programs. A full-time position currently exists for a Senior Claims Consultant managing liability claims within our Melbourne team. Your portfolio of clients will predominantly be Victorian Councils.
In this position, you will complete a variety of duties, including liaising with claimants, clients, solicitors, repairers, and assessors, while conducting general claims duties. We will count on you to:
- Liaise with the Manager to provide relevant information for the successful and efficient operation of the claims unit.
- Manage and update a claims portfolio daily, maintaining accurate records of claims status.
- Communicate with clients and claimants to ensure timely and cost-effective resolution of liability claims.
- Make recommendations to clients and negotiate claim settlements with their authority.
- Refer files exceeding the client’s insurance excess to the insurer and update the claims database accordingly.
- Maintain regular communication with clients regarding claim progress and satisfaction.
- Participate in claims unit meetings to identify improvements to procedures.
- Assist in delivering training programs to client staff as requested.
What you need to have:
- Experience managing claims, particularly public liability claims.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
- Initiative and discretion in handling confidential information.
