As a Community Support Worker with Ability WA, you’ll empower people with disabilities to live life to the fullest. You’ll support customers to build independence, connect with their community, and work toward their goals. Shifts available both North of the River and South of the River
What You’ll Do
Provide person‑centred support to customers in the community
Support customers to engage in social activities (coffee catch‑ups, shopping, classes, movies and appointments)
Encourage independence, choice and social connection
Assist with daily living tasks, including personal care, meal planning, hydrotherapy and light domestic duties
Advocate for customers’ rights, needs and goals
Transport customers using wheelchair‑accessible vans and your own vehicle, as required
Maintain accurate and timely progress notes
About You
Certificate III/IV in Disability, Aged Care or a related field (desirable)
Minimum 6 months experience in a caring role in the disability sector
Comfortable providing all aspects of daily living and personal care to all genders, including hydrotherapy support
Able to work across varied shifts and locations independently with customers
Confident driving wheelchair‑accessible vans and transporting customers using your own vehicle
A clear, adaptable communicator with a strong person‑centred approach
Experience supporting people with mental health needs, challenging behaviours and de‑escalation strategies (desirable, not essential)
Australian work rights required (no visa sponsorship available)
Hold, or be willing to obtain
National Police Clearance

First Aid
Valid Driver’s Licence
Comprehensive car insurance
Availability Requirements
We require availability across at least three weekdays, with full‑day availability between 8:00am and 6:00pm.
