The Project UGL and CPB Contractors have been awarded the early works contract to support Powerlink’s delivery of CopperString 2032. This $5 billion iconic project will initially be approximately 840 kilometres of new transmission line running from just south of Townsville to Mount Isa that will connect Queensland’s North West Minerals Province to the national electricity grid. The project scope includes: • 500 kilovolt (kV) transmission line from just south of Townsville to Hughenden • 330kV transmission line from Hughenden to Cloncurry • 220kV transmission line from Cloncurry to Mount Isa • up to six new substation sites. This exciting project will commence construction in 2024 and we are currently looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to join the team. The role will be based in Brisbane and will involve regular visits to site. What will a day in this role look like: Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will be accountable for developing and delivering on commercial strategies, financial and commercial management, contract reviews and formation, and provide authoritative advice to senior management to ensure financial success of the project. Some key responsibilities of this role will include: • Evaluating head contract legal and commercial risks • Providing commercial support to project managers and contract administrators Reviewing and reporting on the commercial positions of the project • Full management and delivery of all project related cost control activities including earned value analysis, forecasting and monthly reporting • Provide direction and support to project team for the management and negotiation of claims and disputes with subcontractors and Clients The following qualifications and experience are highly desired, but if you don’t tick all the boxes you could still be a perfect fit for this role.
