With continued growth and increasing project demand, we are currently looking for a skilled and experienced Civil Engineering Technician to join our dynamic team in Bankstown. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to contribute to the successful planning, coordination, and delivery of high-quality construction and engineering projects.
The candidate is expected to perform the following duties and responsibilities but are not limited to:
· Assist in preparing project proposals, quote and documentation.
· Estimating the material, labour and other resources costs
· Preparing sketches, charts, tabulations, plans and designs for construction works
· Evaluating and validating construction materials’ test reports
· Organizing and supervising work activities
· Interpreting work assignment instructions, applying appropriate procedures and selecting equipment
· Collecting and analysing data, and carrying out computations
· Examining construction project sites and arranging installation , maintenance and repair work and ensuring they are within specifications.
· Assessing actual material costs against the tender cost during the project construction phase.
Qualification:
· Tertiary Qualification in Civil Engineering or a closely related field
Skills and Requirements:
To be successful in this role, applicants must demonstrate:
· Minimum 5 years of experience working in a busy environment in a similar role
· Excellent Auto CAD drafting and design skills
· Strong understanding of civil construction methods, materials, and engineering standards
· Proven ability in cost estimation, tender preparation, and project documentation
· High-level organisational and site coordination capabilities
· Competency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications
· Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices within the construction industry
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
· Effective communication skills for liaising with engineers, builders, suppliers, and clients
· Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced project environment and meet deadlines
