About the role: The Citrix VDI Support Specialist provides operational support for Citrix VDI server farms, virtual desktops, and Microsoft RDS. Responsibilities include system monitoring, issue resolution, maintaining SOE images, disaster recovery participation, security compliance, and documentation. The role requires an active AGSVA Baseline Clearance, Australian citizenship, and 2+ years supporting Citrix and RDS in secure environments. Preferred qualifications include Citrix and Microsoft certifications, especially in government or compliance-heavy settings. Key responsibilities: Support Citrix VDI server farms, virtual desktops, and RDS deployments daily. Monitor system health, address performance issues, resolve incidents within SLAs. Maintain and update SOE images, including upgrades and patching. Participate in Disaster Recovery drills and ensure infrastructure readiness. Ensure security policy compliance, manage GPOs, and configuration standards. Maintain documentation and runbooks. Escalate application or user profile issues as needed. Candidate requirements:2+ years supporting Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops in enterprise or government environments. Experience with Microsoft RDS and session host infrastructure. Proficiency in managing Windows SOE images. Familiarity with Citrix Studio, Director, Store Front. Knowledge of patching, user access control, image lifecycle. Experience in secure, structured environments with change and incident processes. Desired qualifications: Citrix Certified Associate – Virtualization (CCA-V) or similar. Microsoft certifications related to Azure Virtual Desktop, Windows Server, or End User Computing. Experience supporting virtual desktops in government or compliance-heavy environments. Familiarity with ITIL support practices. What’s on offer?This contract is initially for 6–12 months with potential extensions and pathway to permanency. Location is preferably Ballarat, Victoria, but candidates can work at client sites across all capital cities. On-site attendance is required 5 days a week for security reasons.
