Our client, The Trustee for Arkan Family Trust trading as Golden Tiger Fine Food Restaurant, is seeking a skilled and committed Chef to join its kitchen team on a full-time basis.
Tasks include:
• Planning and preparation of a wide range of dishes in accordance with the restaurant menu and customer preferences.
• Prepare, cook and present food to a consistently high standard during lunch and dinner services.
• Ensure correct portioning, seasoning, temperature control and presentation of all dishes.
• Plan menus and contribute ideas for new dishes and seasonal specials.
• Manage kitchen operations in an organised and efficient manner, particularly during busy service periods.
• Ensure all food preparation and storage practices comply with food safety and hygiene standards.
• Monitor stock levels, check deliveries, and assist with inventory control and proper storage of ingredients.
• Train and supervise junior kitchen staff to ensure consistency and quality in food preparation.
• Minimise food wastage through effective planning and ingredient management.
• Follow workplace health and safety policies and contribute to a positive team environment.
Qualifications and skills:
• Certificate IV or higher qualification in commercial cookery or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of recent experience working as a Chef in a commercial kitchen.
• Sound knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.
