About your new role
- As the Centre Manager for 2 x Gyms within the Hawkesbury and Kingswood WSU Campuses you will be responsible for driving business and programs within an agreed operating budget while also ensuring contract compliance requirements are being met.
- You will be confident with financial and business planning and be able to demonstrate appropriate experience in these areas.
- We are looking for a dynamic, natural born leader with significant management experience in the recreation, leisure, fitness or sport industry to drive the success at the Western Sydney University Gym and Fitness Centres.
- You will have an understanding of and experience in Gym and fitness operations, Gym sales with experience in delivering health and wellness programs an advantage.
- The successful candidate will also have the skills to manage, develop, inspire and motivate staff. You will come with a reputation for thinking strategically, with substantial commercial acumen.
What you will come with
- Significant industry knowledge and experience of at least 3 - 5 years facility management responsibility at Manager; Assistant Manager; Centre Co-ordinator; or similar level.
- Demonstrated high level communication skills including written and verbal reporting.
- Knowledge of Community Recreation.
- Knowledge of Facility Contract Management.
- Experience in managing staff.
- Experience in financial management including developing and managing budgets.
- Highly developed observation and reporting skills.
- Ability to direct and oversee the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of appropriate programs, both centre-based and community-hosted, which reflect the needs of the local community.
- First Aid and CPR qualifications.
- Commitment to Safeguarding.
- Given the unique nature of the recreation industry, candidates must be flexible to meet the needs of the Centre including some early mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays work as required.
