The Opportunity We are looking for a highly motivated Junior Electrical Draftsperson with a passion for learning, and the technical ability and interest to understand commercial building technology solutions. You will join a team of software, lighting, electronics engineers, and designers to assist in drafting viable solutions for the implementation of lighting, energy and building management systems. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of drafting electrical systems with a keen eye for detail and accuracy. Reporting to the Engineering Lead and Snr Draftsman, you will utilise your electrical drafting knowledge, experience and time management skills to act as a support mechanism to the Snr Draftsman. The position will support the business to produce results that are responsive, accurate, and compliant with all standards and regulations.This can be either a full-time, part-time or casual position depending on experience and conditions. A strong technical aptitude is essential for this position. Key Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to): The successful person will be working on technical designs as well as providing operational/ engineering support as outlined (but not limited to): Assist to prepare detailed concept design drawing packages for tender, construction and as-builtFollow all documentation guidelines as advised by the Snr DraftsmanMaintaining project drawings, documentation and records in an accurate and organised manner ensuring completeness and accuracy of all data in accordance with company quality systems and standards.Ensure the accuracy of drawings, especially title blocks, drawing numbers, notes etc.Work closely with other team members to collect and understand the information required to deliver clean and effective drawings, complying with assurance procedures.Assist to prepare electrical designs including plans, wiring diagrams, single line diagrams, schematic diagrams and electrical equipment layouts.Interpreting plans, regulations and codes of practice.Ensure the latest drawings are used for design and draftingEnsuring that design tasks undertaken meet appropriate technical standards and the requirements of the company and the client.Work within relevant standards to specify components for projects.Support Electrical/Lighting Engineers with the development of design and drawingsThorough understanding and maintaining efficiency with standard design and drafting practicesPractical Experience in an Electrical trade environment is highly regardedUse tools and software as pre-configured: MS Office, MS Project, Wrike, Simpro, Slack, Google Drive, Dropbox, CAD, BluebeamEstimate materials quantities and work with the Engineering Team to develop BOM for projects.Contribute to the ongoing productivity and performance of the team by offering assistance and guidance to other team members on technical and procedural matters as required.Prepare detailed design drawing packages Skills and experience Requirements Competent in AutoCADProven experience working in a similar role preferably 2 yrs +Able to competently interpret and communicate complex technical informationComputer literate including competency in MS OfficeDemonstrated ability to work independently to organise and prioritise work, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously, set and meet deadlines, and follow through within a fast-paced environment with multiple and competing demandsExperience with working on multiple projects simultaneously/concurrentlyCurrent Australian driver's licenceImpeccable attention to detail, judgement, and integrity Bonus A degree in Engineering/Drafting or a similar related field will be highly regardedRevit Application Requirements Please provide a CV including a cover letter with your application.
