About the role
You will be tasked with:
- Leading the Mechanical Design Team of 8 people including this position.
- Running projects independently while scheduling and delivering projects through the Mechanical team.
- Business development through networking, building and maintaining relationships with key clients, and identifying additional business opportunities through market knowledge.
- Consulting with clients on matters relating to engineering services.
- Using interpersonal skills to help generate business opportunities for the consultancy.
- Preparing mechanical design calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Mentoring junior Engineers and team members, allocating projects, and ensuring the team works effectively and to capacity.
Ideally, you will have:
- A minimum qualification of a Degree in Mechanical Services or equivalent from a recognised tertiary institution.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role in a consultancy environment, with significant local experience.
- An understanding of Australian standards in relation to Mechanical / HVAC engineering design.
- Proficiency in a variety of CAD / software programs.
- The ability to manage a team and your own project portfolio concurrently.
- The ability to develop and implement processes and procedures.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, with an ability to work to agreed deadlines.
- Excellent client communication and liaison skills, with the ability to convey information accurately and open up business opportunities through interpersonal skills and rapport building.
- Business development skills are desirable.
