We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer who has experience with AWS cloud services to be part of the Test Engineering team. This role is responsible for leading and performing software development, design and testing to support the End-to-End (Therapy Device to patient/physician UI) and component-level/API testing activities in the DHT web, mobile and cloud applications. It also encompasses working with global Product Development (PD) teams in Sydney, San Diego, Halifax, Europe, and other countries. These applications are designed for clinicians involved in the care and management of patients with obstructive sleep apnea and respiratory disorders You will create specifications and designs for new products or improvements and enhancements to existing products; work closely with customers, developers and other stakeholders to understand and define customer needs in these designs; as well as understanding feedback regarding product usability and desired future enhancements.Let’s talk about Responsibilities The primary objective of Verification & Validation (V&V) specialization within Engineering (PD) Job Family is to verify and validate the end-to-end system and design of all new products as part of product development prior to product release.It is also responsible for designing and automating (where possible) effective test methodologies and test instrumentation to ensure designs meet their specifications and user needs.V&V test designs, analyze results through utilizing technologies, automation and data analytics to ensure compliance to quality and regulatory requirements.Performs work in a specialized area of expertise that requires knowledge of fundamental themes, principles and concepts. Typically requires a university degree or equivalent work experience.Responsibilities might include:(1) Performing routine manual and automated tests + test results reporting responsibilities(2) Contributing to and managing software development and testing projects(3) Providing advice/direction/mentorship/leadership in primary areas of expertiseNetworks with contacts outside own area of expertise.Leads a cooperative effort among members of a project team.Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations.Frequently leads sub-functional teams or projects and train and mentor junior team members.Serves as a best practice resource within own area of work.Applies functional knowledge and existing methodologies to solve complex problems or execute specialized projects.Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.Determines methods and procedures on new assignments.Let’s talk about Qualifications and Experience Required: Minimum of 8 years of related experience.Computer Science, Engineering or Science degree or equivalent experience.Strong experience of core Java language, Spring framework, micro services and web APIs.Exposure to Angular, Spring Boot, relational & non-relational databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB and SQL Server are highly desirable).Programing experience using an additional language such as Python.Experience building application using AWS services, technically proficiency in services such as EC2, ELB, RDS, Lambda, S3.Preferred: Good understanding of cloud networking concepts.Work with automation tools such as Terraform including building cloud-based CI/CD/CT DevOps pipelines. Container Tooling – Docker. Experience with monitoring tools such as (AppDynamics, CloudWatch, Tibco/RTView). Knowledge in Machine Learning methodologies with hands on experience, such as, classifications, regressions, forecasts and unsupervised learning is highly regarded.
