Well Hung Plasterboard Contractors are seeking a fulltime skilled and reliable Plasterboard Sheet Fixer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for determining plasterboard layouts, preparing surfaces, installing insulation and vapour barriers, and securely fitting plasterboard panels to a variety of surfaces including walls, ceilings, and battens.
We are offering a salary of $76,515 plus 11.5% superannuation.
The successful candidate must be able to meet the criteria listed below:
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret construction plans and specifications to determine plasterboard layout.
- Install insulation and vapour barriers in accordance with building regulations and project requirements.
- Measure, mark, and cut plasterboard to the required dimensions using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Lift, position, and align plasterboard panels for secure installation.
- Fix plasterboard sheets to timber, metal, or masonry surfaces using screws, nails, or adhesive.
- Ensure a high-quality finish and accurate alignment of panels to prepare surfaces for further finishing (e.g., jointing and painting).
- Maintain a safe and tidy work environment, complying with site safety policies and procedures.
Key Skills
- Proven experience in plasterboard installation or a related trade.
- Strong understanding of insulation and vapour barrier requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and construction plans.
- Physically fit with the ability to lift and position large plasterboard sheets.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Knowledge of health and safety practices relevant to construction environments.
Work Experience & Qualifications
- Certificate III in Wall and Ceiling Lining (or equivalent trade qualification).
- White Card (Construction Induction Training).
- Working at Heights or other relevant safety tickets (preferred but not essential).
- At least 2 years of work experience in a similar role.
