Roster: Monday to Friday

The Senior Water Resource Engineer will be responsible for working with a team of multi-disciplinary professionals to support and complete technical work including conceptual design and technical assurance for a wide range of projects involving water resource management, water yield assessments, hydrologic analysis and hydraulic design of water management infrastructure and/or flood-risk assessments. The scope of work includes water quantity and quality data sourcing to assess risk factors and advise on project developments. They will also prepare supporting technical documentation for water resources (technical memorandums, reports, presentations, etc.), regulatory program compliance, data management and analysis, and field work.

Key accountabilities will include:
Collection and analysis of water data (such as water quantity and quality information) to inform studies, risk assessments and additional investigations
Conduct hydrological and hydraulic investigations and design for a wide range of studies
Providing technical advice to study teams on water resources management that influences design, construction, and maintenance, of engineered structures including water source investigations, water balance modelling, water quality assessments and other related water management studies.
Planning and managing site investigations including the collection of hydrological and hydrogeological data.
Developing water management plans, water management systems and water balance models.
Perform watershed feasibility studies and conceptual designs to provide water quantity and quality assessments.
Provide analysis of options for, and participate in the design of, water treatment processes.
Assist in preparation of construction plans, specifications and cost estimates including material quantity calculations.
Managing and liaising with a range of project stakeholders including project engineers, consultants, and contractors.
Provide technical support to a diverse team of professionals across multiple parts of the value chain.
Qualifications and skills required:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering
Prior experience in a similar role preferably in the renewable energy sector or complex environments.
Minimum 8-years post-graduate experience in water resources engineering.
Experience in water balance modelling, hydrological assessments, stormwater management and/or hydrogeological assessments.
Sound understanding of hydraulic and hydrological principles, industry standards and guidelines. Experience with international codes and standards will be beneficial.
Proficiency using GIS and industry-standard water balance, hydrologic and hydraulic modelling software packages such as Goldsim, HecRAS, Tuflow
Experience with water system planning and infrastructure design and management.
Experience in water quality management and water quality processing is highly desirable.
Strong data management and manipulation skills, with excellent computer literacy skills.
