The opportunity Due to continued growth and success in the areas of Independent Reviewer, Certifier and Verification roles (IR, IC and IV) across Australia, Mott MacDonald is looking for an experienced professional with relevant experience in delivering and executing IR, IC & IV services (the Services) across rail, infrastructure and civil projects. This Technical Director – Independent Reviewer/Certifier is based in Melbourne but we are open to location depending on the successful candidate’s requirements. We are looking for someone with first hand and proven experience discharging the duties as the formal IR/IC/IV representative, or as a minimum project manager, performing signatory / acceptance events and obligations under the contractual deeds of appointment. This role is varied and day-to-day activities could entail: Representing the team, business, and projects at the senior/executive level as required under the contractual deeds Delivery of the Services in the rail, rolling stock, construction, and infrastructure environments under an IC/IR/IV Deed of Appointment Drafting of risk-based and progressive assurance focused Control/Monitoring Plans Understanding of the delivery of PPP based projects Appreciation of systems engineering and the “V” cycle LI-CA1 Candidate Specification The ideal candidate will have a pragmatic and fresh approach to delivery of the Services employing progressive assurance methodologies and being able to adapt the Services for a Best for Project approach when required. We will be looking for an individual who fully understands the obligations of the Services and who can direct the wider support team to provide day-to-day support whilst preparing and applying a risk-based approach to key events. The candidate should have experience in: Design Submission and Management Plan review Key life cycle stage review and assessment of completion Test Specification and Report review and certification Management of third party review comments and any necessary challenge / rejection Auditing and inspections The candidate should also have: Working knowledge and experience of RSNL and SFAIRP Risk identification, management, and mitigation Understanding and application of progressive assurance approaches Creating and providing adequate assurance levels to the business to support critical contractual signatory events Presenting to senior project groups, funders and state representatives Our values, culture, and benefits We put equality, diversity, and inclusion at the heart of our organisation, seeking to promote fair employment procedures and practices to ensure equal opportunities for all.
