About the Role
Join a dynamic digital team as a Senior Cybersecurity Advisor , where you'll leverage your expertise in cybersecurity policies, frameworks, and operational initiatives to strengthen the organisation’s security posture. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Cyber Advisory, this role is integral to ensuring robust information security measures, compliance with relevant legislation, and engagement with industry leaders in cybersecurity.
Key accountabilities include:

• Provide expert advice on cybersecurity compliance and advisory services.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of security policies and standards to ensure adherence to legislative requirements and good practice.
• Draft Security Architecture reviews and cyber assessments to identify and mitigate potential risks to information security.
• Draft compliance reporting activities including Essential Eight (E8), Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) reporting, and development of security documentation (SSP, SRMP).
• Conduct regular cyber risk assessments and maintain the cyber risk register to proactively address potential issues.
• Monitor and evaluate emerging cybersecurity threats and trends and implement appropriate measures to address them.

About You

• Understanding frameworks like ISO 27001 (international security standard), PSPF (government security policy), and the Essential Eight (cybersecurity strategies).
• Demonstrate extensive knowledge and understanding of cyber frameworks, legislation, policies, and procedures to guide the team effectively.
• Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex security issues and develop effective solutions.
• Exhibit a proactive approach to identifying and addressing security risks, ensuring that the organisation's information assets are protected.
• Commit to continuous professional development and staying abreast of the latest cybersecurity trends and technologies.
