The Role: Our client is looking for an experienced farm hand to join their well-established 4th-generation family business. This property covers 6,500 acres of prime agricultural farming land currently supporting 6,800 head of Merino and first cross ewes with offspring for the purpose of prime lamb production, along with 85 head of breeding cattle. We are looking for someone to undertake animal husbandry tasks with the sheep, cattle, including marking lambs and calves. Involvement in all parts of the cropping cycle, including the operation of modern farming machinery & equipment (incl GPS); you will be involved in all mechanical and maintenance programs, general farm work (including hay making) and some livestock handling. This role offers a variety of tasks across both the cropping and livestock elements of the property. The employee will also be performing grain processing procedures, feed manufacturing and delivery procedures, as well as performing feedlot and environment maintenance strategies. The applicant will need to have an understanding of quality assurance programs such as Agriwebb, as well as a comprehension of new and innovative technologies. The Property & Employer: The experienced 4th generation family business is looking to expand its established team, the business consists of four properties within close proximity of each other for an aggregation of 6500 acres. Our client holds work ethics and manners to the highest standard as well as the products they produce for example; Canola, Lucerne and cereal crops with a mixture of dryland and progressive irrigation. On average 400ha of the property is under irrigation for lucerne hay and seed, with another 400ha of dryland lucerne, a rotation of the following over 700ha cropping paddocks; Rye Corn, Barley, Wheat, Vetch and Canola. The property is well set up with impressive infrastructure allowing for on-farm storage with new and existing machinery sheds, hay sheds and silos. An impressive machinery fleet with a mix of modern and classic tractors, new self-propelled John Deere sprayer, windrowers, and so on.
