Description Lincoln Hospital Clerical/Administrative Support Req #: 18127 Summary: The Apprentice - Patient Access - Emergency Department role is the initial contact for patients at Lincoln Hospital. It requires demonstrating exceptional customer service skills in all interactions. Responsibilities include complete and accurate patient registration, insurance verification, medical necessity validation, identifying and collecting amounts due from patients, entering orders, and ensuring an efficient flow of clinical, administrative, and clerical tasks. The role also involves obtaining patient signatures on consent and assignment forms, handling applicable insurance denial notices, and assisting with accommodations for patients with special needs. All tasks must be performed according to established protocols and accuracy standards, embodying the Champions of Care expectations: Welcome, Listen, and Serve. Success in this role requires competence, flexibility, and adaptability to changes in healthcare delivery and technology.
