Location: Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Melbourne (Hybrid model)Purpose of Role We are seeking an Applications Engineer to support our Arterra pipeline solutions product offering. This role involves collaborating with sales and product specialists, providing input on pipeline materials selection and technical considerations, and conducting field trials across various sites on the East Coast of Australia. The Applications Engineer will also prepare tenders and quotes for Weir’s Piping Solutions and other wear solution products, including spools, lining & fabrication, hose, sheet rubber, and moulded products. What is Arterra?Arterra is Weir's Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UMHWPE) Pipeline Solutions product, designed to provide exceptional wear resistance and durability in demanding mining applications, especially tailings and mine concentrate transportation, as well as dredging. Key Responsibilities Technical Support: Review site/client applications, develop technical proposals, evaluate pipeline and material options, and recommend solutions based on client needs. Field Trials: Collect baseline data, suggest improvements, analyze and communicate results, provide onsite technical support, and use data to develop new products and services. Tender Preparation: Prepare tenders and quotes for Weir’s Piping Solutions and other wear products. Safety: Commit to zero harm behaviors and support a safety-first culture. Qualifications Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, or Mining Engineering. Experience or research in pipelines or fluid dynamics preferred. Experience with wear materials (plastics, rubber, ceramics, white iron) beneficial. Knowledge of minerals processing industries desirable. Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
