Position Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mixed Crop and Livestock Farmer to join our farming operations in Swan Hill, VIC.
The successful applicant will be responsible for managing day-to-day farm activities involving crop cultivation and livestock care, ensuring efficient and sustainable farm production.
Key Responsibilities Plan, coordinate, and perform crop production activities including planting, irrigation, fertilising, spraying, and harvesting.
Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment (tractors, harvesters, irrigation systems, etc.).
Monitor crop health and implement pest and weed control strategies.
Manage livestock operations including feeding, breeding, health monitoring, and general husbandry.
Maintain farm infrastructure including fencing, sheds, and water systems.
Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety regulations.
Maintain production records, livestock records, and inventory documentation.
Assist in supervising farm workers when required.
Implement sustainable farming practices to optimise yield and animal welfare.
Skills and Experience Required Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in mixed crop and livestock farming.
Practical knowledge of crop cultivation techniques and livestock management.
Ability to operate and maintain agricultural machinery safely.
Understanding of irrigation systems and farm maintenance.
Strong work ethic and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good problem-solving skills and time management.
Physically fit and willing to work in outdoor farm conditions.
Qualifications Relevant qualification in Agriculture (Certificate III or higher) preferred but not mandatory.
Valid driver’s licence.
