The Role
Queensland Metals are seeking suitably qualified and experienced applicants for the role of Environmental Advisor. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual looking to develop their career through exposure to a dynamic and challenging environment as part of a large environmental team. Reporting to the Environmental Coordinator of the Health, Safety, Environment and Community department, you will be involved in managing a diverse range of environmental issues in underground and open cut metalliferous mining, processing, smelting and associated operations.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Monitoring and reporting on environmental performance, including participation in monitoring programs
- Providing accurate and consistent environmental advice and promoting continuous improvement
- Liaising and communicating effectively across multiple levels of the workforce and 3rd Parties
- Managing environmental projects and assisting with the development of Environmental Authority amendments
The successful applicants will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in the field of Environmental Science / Environmental Management
- Experience (3 years) in mining or heavy industry experience and demonstrated ability in project management
- A strong safety focus, required for promoting site safety standards
- Capability to work both independently and as part of a team to deliver consistent high-quality results
