Position Overview:

This rolewill provide strategic support and advice across the various functions within ASEAN & SOUTH PACIFIC Operating Unit (“ASP OU”), focusing onAustralia, New Zealand and Pacific Islands (“South Cluster”). The successful candidate willmanage all legal matters for the South Cluster,providelegal and business counselling to leadership team and business colleagues andwill provide guidance and direction to ensure Company’soperationsis carried out in an ethical and compliance manner, and implement Company’s compliance programs and policies, including the Code of Business Conduct, competition law,privacy and data protection,regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will also support OU General Counseland collaborate with therest of theASP OU Legal team forvarious OU/global initiatives.

Provide strategic thinking and be a credible and effective partner for the South Cluster business and its management todeliver Company’s objectives in the right way
Execute strategic agenda and business plans of the region across all its markets, taking into account the broader geopolitical, commercial, legal, industry and regulatory nuances and framework
Manage and work in close partnership with a variety of stakeholders and corresponding counterparts, including the bottlers, venture partners, regulators, government authorities and outside counsels
Provide proactive and strategic counseling for strategic partnerships framework and provide local legal support for M&A initiatives
Provideproactiveand creativestrategic and tactical legal counseling and support, advice and assist in problem resolution; work as part of cross-functional teams on local, regional and enterprise wide projects and initiatives
Protect,defendandenforce the Company’sassets andintellectual property rights; identify, assess, and mitigate, minimize, eliminate and manage risks through preventative compliance initiatives and ensure that the operations of the business comply with all legal and regulatory requirements
Proactively provide pragmatic and timely legal opinions,conduct legalresearch, andwhere necessary,work with outside counsel for advice on complex laws/regulations and matters
Draft, review, and negotiate key legal contracts to achieve business objectives, minimize risk and ensure compliance with Company policies, laws, and regulations
Review and approve consumer facing materials including all labels,claims,packaging, advertising, campaignsand promotionalinitiatives, public affairs communications, and consumer communications
Support and provide advice for Company’s marketing, e-commerce, sustainability and innovation, initiatives

Manage and provide advices on litigation or dispute resolutions and work with external litigation counsel, as needed
Represent and/or guide the representation of Company interests in dealing with local governmental authorities
Ensure compliance with Company policy and provide proper training and support in the areasof corporate governance, includingbut not limitedto Code of Business Conduct, Anti-Bribery Compliance, Supplier Guiding Principles,FCPA, Trade Sanctions, Anti-trust and other policies

Ensure compliance ofcorporate secretarial works and applicable business licenses for the legal entities in South Cluster
Develop and support productivity opportunities within the legal function to enhance the agility and effectiveness of the legal function
Carry out any other instruction given by OU General Counsel to advance the interests of the Businessand collaborate with therest of the ASPOU legal teamon OU global initiatives
What you bring to the table:
At least 10 years as a qualified lawyer in-house and/or law firm.
Bachelor of Laws
Qualified Lawyer – Bar Qualification is required
Experience in the FMCG industry would be a plus

Strategic thinker, a credible and effective leader with ability to execute the strategic agenda and business plans of the region across all its markets, taking into account the broader geopolitical, commercial, legal, industry and regulatory nuances and framework
Strong in basic Australian lawsandregulations, including in the area of contract& commercial, corporate, investment, employment, consumer protection and competition,andabilityto learn more industry/countryrelated laws, such as food law, e-commerceand the applicable laws and regulations in New Zealand and pacific islands countries
Ability to be a proactive strategic legal partnership and to provide business solutions to ensure realization of business priorities
Ability to identify opportunities to bring consistency and uniformity to legal work and implementation of initiativesin an effort toenhance business-wide activities
Asset Protection and Risk Identification/Management:Provide strategic and thought leadership on all marketing activities, including the review and approval of advertising, marketing, promotional and merchandising materials, and claims
Drive,promoteand modelan ethical culture, and ensure compliance and governance standards are followed in operating units by providing training and counsel on COBC, and administering compliance with regulatory and policy requirements, including among other, those related to the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, Trade Sanctions, Competition Law, Intellectual Property Law, Use of Competitive Sensitive Information, Employment and Labor Law, Securities Law,Privacy and Data Protectionlaws,Environmental and Food Law
Draft, review and negotiate customer, M&A, distribution, procurement, sponsorship, marketing and other contracts with significant authority as per delegation of authority to make final decision on legal issue.
Strong communication skills, including written and presentation; ability to influence varied leaders and business colleagues, up to and including senior executives; ability to communicate complex legal topics to leadership team and all business colleagues
Strong collaboration skills and ability to work independently as well as being part of the cross function and cross jurisdictional team

Business-minded; understands that the best counselsare businesspeople with law degrees
Strong growth mindset and agile
Ability to be highly organized and effective, handle multiple complex projects and carefully prioritize competing work assignments from many clients
Fluency (spoken and written) in English
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite of products. Strong presentation skills.
Open to Travel: Under 20%. Some travel may be required regionally within the operating unit.
