Overview How You’ll Make an Impact Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Lead Software Engineer is a leader within their squad and the greater Epsilon Retail Media team, helping to ensure that high-quality solutions are created to meet the needs of our customers. Most of a Lead SE’s time will be spent coding, but we believe that Engineers who are engaged in the product create better solutions, so we ensure to involve all Engineers at some level in the Product Discovery phases, bringing their unique skill set and viewpoint to the product definitions. Lastly, a Lead SE will help define and champion good technical practices within the Epsilon Retail Media Team, coaching other Engineers as appropriate. What You’ll Achieve Deliver high-quality, customer-focused solutions, that are tested for correctness and have validated customer demand, with considerations for rollout strategy and production support. Write and review code, design documents, and technical documentation. Collaborate with the Product Trio to participate in customer interviews and research, discover innovative solutions that align with team and business goals, and design experiments that validate assumptions, and collect meaningful data for making decisions. Champion best practices in software engineering, including architecture and code quality standards. Provide technical guidance and mentoring to the team, including education around best practices and industry standards in engineering. Foster a positive team culture and respond to feedback. Who You Are Required: Strong history of Backend development in statically typed compiled languages. Go preferred, but Java / C#. Net are considered highly if you have the desire to learn Go. Previous experience as a Senior Software Engineer. Demonstrated capability to talk with non-technical people effectively. Highly Regarded: Experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, and GCP; other cloud providers are a positive. Experience with Postgre SQL; other RDMS are a positive. Experience working in Customer-focused Product Teams. Desirable: A level of familiarity with React or other modern Front-End frameworks.
