We have an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the community as our next Economic Development Officer. This role is crucial in the implementation of initiatives and activities from the City's Economic Development Strategy and Action Plans. You will work closely with local businesses, government agencies, and community organisations to promote economic initiatives and support sustainable development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with community stakeholders, including residents, businesses, and community organisations, to promote economic development initiatives and gather feedback.
- Research economic trends, industry sectors, and business opportunities within the local area.
- Assist with the planning and coordination of economic development activities, such as business workshops and networking events.
- Assist in identifying opportunities to attract new businesses to the area while also supporting existing businesses to encourage growth and retention.
Requirements:
- Developed knowledge of business administrative practices and processes
- Sound written and verbal communication and numeracy skills
- Ability to undertake research
- Flexibility to work varying hours on occasion, including weekends and evenings
- Completion of a Certificate II or III (Business Administration) or equivalent workplace experience
