ACCOUNT DIRECTOR – INTEGRATED CREATIVE CAMPAIGNS & EVENTS, OCTAGON
FULL TIME, SYDNEY BASED

About the Role:
We’re on the hunt for an Account Director to lead the day-to-day management of some of our key client relationships. You’ll be the linchpin between the client’s ambitions and Octagon’s creativity and strategic thinking — driving impactful work that earns attention and delivers real brand and business outcomes.
This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing integrated projects across sport, arts, culture and entertainment partnerships, creative campaigns, digital, social, event activations, and hospitality, and reporting into Octagon’s Head of Client Services, Australia.
What we’re looking for:
A natural leader with around 6–8 years’ experience in a creative agency, brand partnership or integrated marketing environment. Someone who loves making big ideas happen and knows how to rally a team to deliver them – driving campaigns from strategic insight to creative development, production and execution.
We’re after someone who:
- Thinks strategically — from a client, agency, and industry perspective
- Can build trust and lead conversations with senior clients, internal specialists, and project teams
- Can spot an opportunity, extract a clear brief, and drive the team to deliver exceptional work
- Can drive the Octagon business forward organically, and through new business opportunities
- Has experience across comms, digital, social, partnerships, events, and activations
- Is a confident communicator and compelling presenter
- Is passionate about creative work, and able to oversee and inspire teams from planning through to execution
- Has experience in partnership marketing, sponsorship, sport, gaming, entertainment, tech, or finance (a bonus, not a dealbreaker)
What you’ll do:
- Lead primary client relationships, acting as their go-to for campaigns, brand partnerships, and projects
- Manage a portfolio of accounts spanning sport, arts, and culture partnerships
- Tap into Octagon’s internal expertise — strategy, creative, partnerships, production — to deliver a wide range of brilliant work
- Oversee timelines, scopes of work, budgets, briefs, and project status across multiple workstreams
- Manage and mentor your account teams, helping them develop and thrive
- Work closely with Octagon leadership on new business pitches and growth opportunities
- Advocate for great ideas — and help sell them in
- Be an active contributor to our agency culture, operations, and community
